LIC was formed on May 1, 2002 by Booo and CdnBabe with a vision of offering a safe and secure environment for Canadian Lesbians to network with other Lesbians.
LIC is for all women born womyn who know they are lesbians. The born lesbian, the out late in life lesbian, the late-bloomer still married or divorced, lesbians raising children alone or with partners. We are all flowers in this tolerant garden of women. We have seen intolerance within our community for years. We ask society to accept us for who we are as lesbians, LIC offers that same tolerance and acceptance here.

The LIC staff see great potential for this online and offline Community. We have already had some LIC events hosted in cities around Canada. Many members are meeting for dinner, drinks, pride events as well as other small informal events. The news and events that are passed around by our members is yet another way of keeping in touch with stuff on your side of the fence, and around the Country. This community is what the members bring to it. We hope to see LIC grow and offer resources to those who are living in out of the way areas of this Country, as well as those living in the more "happening" cities. We see the potential, and we hope you do as well. We attempt to do this in a gentle and compassionate style.

Booo@lic.ca is our resident creative mind for both writing and artistic ideas. She is from Quebec and is our graphic artist and can aid you in problems you may encounter with regards to postings, using our website, and other internet problems. She is pseudo techie and internet surfer from way back.

CdnBabe@lic.ca is from Ontario and co-ordinates membership approvals and marketing of LIC.
